Review on Bronson mini hair straightener

Hi beautiful!

Today I will writing a review on my new mini hair straighter which I have recently purchase at Robinson during their GSS for $19.90! And since some of you have been asking me to write about a review on this so here it is :)

As mention earlier, for a hair straighter it is indeed quite cheap for $19.90. Even the cheapest you find in Watson for a mini straighter cause $39.90. Of course, in pricing wise Bronson wins. But have you heard of this brand before? Truthfully I didn't, and was pondering if I should get this since it was cheap. But something in gadgets like this having it too cheap could have a risk in a fault in their quality. It's like price over quality right?

Well, I checked with the sales girl and she said that it is make out of ceramic plates for unlimited styling techniques. I did my research and found out that ceramic plates are always preferred when it comes to purchasing a flat iron. Unlike aluminium or even gold plated plates, ceramic guildes through the hair without pulling and tugging at it, reducing breakage and damage to the hair. Ceramic tends to heat up quickly and evenly. Therefore if you are looking at hair straighter, go for ceramic plates and not just a ceramic coating.

But of course, ceramic plates is the basic that you can look for in a hair straightener or even a curler. If you want a better quality of a straightener or curler then go for nano tourmaline technology. Tourmaline  is a crystal boron silicate mineral that aids in the hair smoothing process. Our hair naturally produces positive ions, but tourmaline emits negative ions that counteract the positive ions present in dry or damaged hair. This results in smooth, shiny hair, it even helps to seal moisture into your hair and counteracts frizz.

So for Bronson hair straightener, it is made out of ceramic plates so I personally feel that its very cheap for such a product! In addition, its a 360 degree swivel, meaning it won't get tangled easily! Definitely a must for me, as it really annoys me if my straightener get tangled while I am trying to style my hair.

So if you asked me if it is a good hair straightener, I will say YES it is! It was a good deal for me, this mini size is perfect and lightweight enough for travelling. In addition, it is tourmaline inflused for steam-drying hair, locking moisture and adding softness to the hair!

Here is a video of a hairstyling tutorial of me using this hair straightener:

One Of The Neglected Parts Of The Face

If it's one part of the face that many things can go wrong with, it's the eyebrows. Many people often forget how important the eyebrows, until they found themselves without any. Can you imagine how you would look like without any eyebrows?

Eyebrows are important; a good well-groomed eyebrow enhances your features and frames the face. With a simple ratio applied to the eyebrows, its easy to see how the eyebrows should arch or extend in order to best suit your face shape.
Oh course most ladies out there will say, "Its troublesome, I don't know how to draw my eyebrows well."
Yes. I do know your difficulties. Even I had difficulties when I first started out drawing my brows. But with some practices, its actually quite easy. ;) So I will show you guideline in trimming/drawing your brows, the most ignored feature on our face.
How to draw your eyebrows
How-to-draw-eyebrows
1) The starting point of drawing the eyebrows
2) Where the arch begins
3) The ending of the eyebrows

As shown from the picture above, u notice that there is a ratio where the nose act as a guideline. This ratio determines where the eyebrow starts and ends, as well as where it should arch. Trimming and drawing your eyebrows while following these guidelines will ensure the proper eyebrow shape for your face.

There's a variety of potions available for trimming eyebrows. Some people prefer using tweezers as it is more precise and would take longer for regrowth. Whereas there other other options like eyebrows waxing and eyebrow threading. If your tolerance for pain is low, using a razor would be an option for those who are afraid of pain.

Below is a picture which I stumble across on how eyebrows shapes is suitable for the different type of face shapes. This like give a guideline to you which eyebrow would be suitable for your face shape.
Eyebrow shape VS Face shape
basic face shapes
There are 6 basic face shapes. To determine which face shape you are, simply pull your hair back and look out for the following and how they correspond to the shapes:
  • Hairline
  • Cheekbones
  • Chin

After you have determined your face shape, we take a look at what kind of eyebrow shape you should go for.

  • Oval:  Often considered the ideal face shape, the brows play little role in creating the illusion of the perfect face shape as it is already the best possible shape. Focus on taming the brows and filling in the gaps (if any).
  • Round: The goal of the eyebrow shape for people with round faces is to make them appear longer and less round. Create a high arch that looks natural (not too high or you will look permanently surprised) and it will help lengthen the face.
  • Long: Go for a flat eyebrow shape to "shorten" the face. Anything with archs would lengthen the face and make a long face appear even longer.
  • Square: Balance a strong jawline with a strong brow (defined peak at the start of the brow) or an eyebrow shape with a softer curve to soften your features.
  • Heart: Rounded eyebrows suit heart-shaped faces the best. If you have a shorter heart-shaped face, consider  a higher arch to add length to your face.
  • Diamond: The curved brow would be perfect for the diamond-shaped face as it softens the features and make the widest part of the face appear less wide.

Professional help
If you are deathly afraid of grooming your own brows, you can always seek professional help. Most cosmetic brands like Bobbi Brown, Shu Uemura and Benefits do offer eyebrows trimming. The staffs at the counter are trained to tweeze your brows so if you are unsure of how to draw or shape your brows, you can ask for their professional help.

That's all for today. Try to groom your eyebrow and believe me, you will notice the difference!
