Behind the Scene for Harper's Bazaar Photoshoot Competition

Good Day Lovelies!

Today I will be sharing about my experience in one of my shoots that was taken one month back. This was actually for Harper's Bazaar photography competition that my friend took part in and I just helped out with the makeup. This competition is usually an yearly thing, so those fashion photographers or any photographers out there who are keen can participate this next year!

So in this competition he was supposed to submit maximum of 5 photos, the theme was "Uniquely Singapore" and has to capture the essence of Singapore's heritage and culture, while still incorporating the beauty of its fashion, lifestyle and the beauty of its fashion, lifestyle and the arts. Sounds tough right? Really cracked our heads for this theme. So in the end we thought of three places - The Pinnacles, Tiong Bahru and Toa Payoh.  We had two lovely models - Crystal and Emma, helping us for the shoot. We had to separate the shoots to two days as the locations were slightly away from each other and one of the models had something on the first day as well.

So on the first day, we went to the Pinnacles to shoot with Crystal. Thankful for the weather it was a sunny and bright day. However it was too hot that all of us got sunburnt despite being under the sun for just 2 hours. Here is the makeup and hairdo that I did for Crystal :)

It was fun helping Crystal doing her makeup. She is a lively and cheerful lady. Had fun doing her makeup and hair. Crystal's hair was slightly thin so I had to do some teasing to give volume for her. For her makeup, I did a cat-eye look and added two layers of fake lashes to give her eyes a fuller look. And if you have noticed her lashes has a few pearls at the end ;)

Anyway here are some pictures behind the scene of the Pinnacles :)

The view from the sky garden

I must say that the Pinnacles is a lovely place. Had a wonderful view up on the 50th floor. Envy the residents living there as they get to exercise and enjoy such a wonderful view there. Personally compared to Marina Bay Sands (MBS) sky garden, it really does have a different view here.

Oh and I must say Crystal's poses are damn sexy! Weather was already hot and she was adding in the heat with her sexiness!

Here are two photos from the first shoot. Still waiting for the rest of the photos...

Then on Day 2, we went down to Toa Payoh and Tiong Bahru. We started off with Emma at Toa Payoh. Here is Emma's makeup and hairdo. I called it the dragon girl cause of the background we were taking at Toa Payoh which also inspired me of her eye-makeup.

I believe most people would be able to recognize this place. Really brings back a lot of childhood memories. Back then our playgrounds were filled with sands, while nowadays its just EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Di Monomer) Rubber surface.

Here are behind the scenes at Toa Payoh:

Then we went to Tiong Barhu to meet up with Crystal to have the next shoot. Those who are looking for old school kind of shoot, here is the place you can go! This place is one of the popular places where most wedding shoots take place in Singapore, not to mention of the yummy food located there as well.

Here are Emma and Crystal Makeup, I called it the Devil and Angel due to their dressing - black and white. Emma's makeup was slightly thicker due to the dark smokey eyes and hot red lips whereas Crystal had soft smokey eyes with soft pink lips to give a natural look. I tied their hairs in a side pony tails and tease it to add volume.
